State Government is Broken.

People are hurting.  Some are losing their jobs, some their homes.  State Government can't help them all, but it can definitely make things worse for many.  Everyone knows what the biggest problems facing the state are.  And every two years, we elect some of our neighbors to Concord to solve those problems.

And what do we get?

A debate on if releasing a helium balloon counts as litter (HB 62 from 2007).  Debate on if red swimming caps should be required when crossing lakes (HB 224 from 2009).  And, in the midst of the greatest Recession in living memory, a "budget" with a $295 million hole in it!  It's time to do better.

Let's Restore Sanity to Concord.

My name is Shuvom Ghose, and I'm running for State Rep in Manchester's Ward 4.  I chose to run because, like you, I'm sick and tired of Concord passing budgets we can't afford, making pointless laws, and stepping on one right after another.  And I want them to hear about it.

My Promises To You:

1. If elected, I will walk the entire ward once a year, knocking on every door that will have me, to talk to voters.  I will note your concerns, and make sure the State Capital hears them.  You WILL have a voice in Concord.

2. Every vote I take on your behalf will be posted on my webpage within a week, with an explanation why I voted the way I did.  You will always know how you are being represented.

3. I will work to reduce the State Budget.  You had to spend less this year, didn't you?  Why didn't the State?  If the average family's budget gets smaller, the State Budget must get smaller, too.  That isn't some sounds-good college theory, that's economic law.  We must save money now to make sure that our critical education, public safety, and transportation needs can be funded in the future.  Don't think it can't happen- California, New York and Illinois are already going bankrupt.  They are choosing BETWEEN schools, roads and police.  To avoid their fate, we have to create a sustainable budget, now, without raising taxes.

4. I will vote against any bill which violates either the United States or New Hampshire Constitution, no matter the subject of the bill, and even if it costs me the next election.  The Constitutions are our highest laws, and our men and women didn't die overseas defending them just so some state rep could vote your rights away at home.

You can do something to help your community and your state- vote in the Republican Primary on Tuesday, September 14th!

Primaries are your true choice in any election, and are usually decided by less than a few hundred voters.  That is where your vote counts most!

The primary will be held at: McDonough Elementary School at 550 Lowell Street.  (Map on left).

We Can Win- If We Pull Together!

New Hampshire is a great state, and there are many reasons you and I love to live here.  Let's act now, so that our grandchildren can say the same thing.  Thank you for your support!
